📝 Explanation

🆚 How to Say “A is More ___ than B” in Japanese

In Japanese, adjectives don’t change like “great → greater.”
Instead, we use this easy comparison pattern:

🔸 Structure:

A のほうが B より (property) です。
→ A is more (property) than B.

🆕 Examples:

  • 英語えいごほう日本語にほんごより かんたんです。
→ English is easier than Japanese. (👀 hmm…)
  • ねこほういぬより しずかです。
→ Cats are quieter than dogs.
  • なつほうふゆより 好きです。
→ I like summer more than winter.

❓ Asking “Which is more ___?”

Use:

  • A と B と、どちらのほうが (property) ですか?
    → Between A and B, which is more ___?
  • or more casual:
    どっちのほうが〜?

Example:

A:パンとごはん、どちらのほうが 好き?
→ Which do you like more, bread or rice?

B:ごはんのほうが 好き! 🍚
→ I like rice more!

🧠 Quick Notes:

  • ほう = “side” → used to say “this one is more ___”
  • より = “than” (comparison marker)
  • No adjective change! Just drop it right in.
