〜ね

🔹 〜ね (right?, isn’t it?, don’t you think?)

Usage: Add ね when you want:

• Confirmation from the listener
• To create shared understanding
• To soften a statement
• To check if the listener agrees

Examples:

京都きょうとは 静かしずかな 場所ばしょですね。 → “Kyoto is a quiet place, isn’t it?”
この 料理りょうりは 辛からくないですね。 → “This dish isn’t spicy, is it?”

🧩 Bonus: Combined 〜ですね

You can combine ね for nuance:

• 〜ですね: “Wouldn’t you agree?”
• 〜ですねえ: Even softer, often used in reactions:
  → すごいですねえ〜！ (“Wow, isn’t that amazing?”)

Notes:

• When someone says something and you respond with そうですね or just ね〜, you’re agreeing. e.g.:
  A: 今日は暑いですね。 (“Hot today, huh.”)
  B: ね〜。 (“Yeah, right?”)

• Tone matters a lot with ね. Rising tone = genuine question/seeking confirmation. Falling tone = soft agreement or musing to yourself.
