Verb/adjective stem + すぎる
Too much / Overly
The grammar pattern 〜すぎる is used to express that something is done too much, or to an excessive degree. It can apply to both verbs and adjectives (both い- and な-adjectives).

すぎる is a regular ru-verb, so it can be conjugated like any other:
パーティーで食べすぎて苦しくなった。
I ate too much at the party and felt sick.
コーヒーを飲みすぎて、夜眠れませんでした。
I drank too much coffee and couldn't sleep at night.
この部屋は寒すぎて入れない。
This room is too cold to enter.
難しすぎる問題は解けません。
I can’t solve problems that are too difficult.
働きすぎるのは体に悪いです。
Working too much is bad for your health.
その店は静かすぎて、音楽も聞こえない。
That store is too quiet—you can’t even hear music.
